Privacy
Your photo stays on your device.
GetShot Passport is an independent website that helps you check, crop and size passport and visa photos. This policy explains what happens to your photo and what limited information the website receives. It is not a government service.

Your photo is processed in your browser
When you choose a photo, it is opened, checked, cropped and rendered entirely inside your browser. Face detection and background models run locally on your device (via WebGPU or WebAssembly).
Your image is never uploaded to our servers, never sent to analytics or advertising providers, and is not stored by us. Once you close or reload the page, the photo is gone from memory. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the editor still works.
What the website receives
- Standard request data that any website receives to be delivered and kept secure — such as your IP address, browser type, referring page and timestamps — handled by our hosting provider.
- If you email us, we receive your message and email address so we can reply.
- No account is required, and we do not ask for personal details to use the tool.
Model and template downloads
The first time you use the editor, your browser downloads the models and template assets it needs to run on your device. These are static files served to your browser; downloading them does not send us your photo.
AI models and content moderation
GetShot Passport uses on-device machine-learning models to prepare your photo. All of them run locally in your browser — your image is the input and the result stays on your device; no photo is sent to us or any third party for processing.
- Face detection — a lightweight face-detection model (face-api.js / TinyFaceDetector) locates your face to auto-align the crop.
- Background segmentation — an RMBG-style background-removal model (via rembg.com) separates you from the background so it can be checked or, where the authority allows it, replaced.
- Content moderation — an on-device NSFW image classifier (NSFWJS, MobileNet) screens each upload. Adult, sexual or otherwise NSFW images are rejected before any processing and never leave your device. This tool does not create face-swaps, deepfakes or sexualised imagery.
Cookies and analytics
We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand which pages are visited and to improve the site. No image, face or biometric data is ever included, and we do not sell your data.
Where consent is required (for example for visitors in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland), any non-essential cookies are only set after you agree, and you can change your choice at any time.
Advertising
The photo editor and tool pages do not load third-party advertising. If advertising is shown on content or guide pages, it is clearly labelled and configured to respect your consent choices; your photo and image data are never shared with advertising partners.
Data retention
We do not store your photos at any stage. Standard server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.
Your choices and contact
Because there are no accounts and we never hold your photos, there is very little personal data to access or delete. For any privacy question — or to ask us to delete an email you sent — contact support@getshotai.com and we will respond.
